TyRex Receives Top Volunteer Award from Skillpoint Alliance
In a recent attendance at the second annual Skillpoint Alliance Employer Partner Fundraiser Luncheon, the TyRex Group was nominated and awarded the Skillpoint Alliance Top Volunteer Award. The nomination shortly follows the establishment of a durable community partnership between TyRex and the Skillpoint Alliance.
The Skillpoint Alliance is a 501(c)3 workforce development organization that provides in-demand workforce training to vulnerable members of the Central Texas community. It is in connection with local industry partners that Skillpoint is able to offer these unique professional training and educational opportunities. By forming relationships with local employers in manufacturing, industrial and similar industries, Skillpoint is able to provide its students with exceptional training and career guidance to help them succeed.
During Skillpoint’s second annual Employer Partner Fundraiser Luncheon, local companies came together to celebrate the impactful community entities and leaders who are investing in Austin’s growing workforce. In addition to hosting an awards ceremony recognizing great work being done in the employment industry, the event also raised funds aimed at enhancing the educational tools and facilities Skillpoint can provide its students.
Out of ten total award categories, TyRex was nominated for three separate categories and was awarded for the Top Volunteer category. We are honored to have been nominated and awarded for our time spent with the Skillpoint team and its students.
For over a year, TyRex has worked closely with Skillpoint to conduct facility visits and tours as well as 3D printing training and provided insight on the manufacturing industry and potential career pathways for their Certified Production Technician (CPT) students.
In its local community outreach initiative, the TyRex Group is on track to establishing partnerships with Austin community leaders and nonprofits to offer its resources and manufacturing technology expertise to help these entities grow and positively impact Austin area citizens. The Skillpoint Alliance is one of TyRex’s Community Partners, and we look forward to continuing to grow this partnership and connect with the students and manufacturing professionals attending Skillpoint Alliance and their various technical programs.
