Jetting Through July 2022 at TyRex

Activities and news at TyRex were heating up through July to match the weather outside. On top of Arctos’ insight on design for manufacturing, RecognizeGood illuminated good in the Austin community with a new Legends honoree, and the TyRex Technology Family celebrated Independence Day with good food and good fun.

Design for manufacturing (DFM) is the principle of creating product designs that lead to an efficient and cost effective manufacturing process. With much of our world being enabled by our devices, it’s easy to see how the complexities of these devices have created a difficulty for manufacturers to bring specific mechatronics to life. Today’s technologies are a combination of a wide variety of intricate design principles, which is why Arctos is such a strong proponent of DFM fundamentals for the products they assemble on contract and for those they design in-house through their sister company, TekRex.

“At TyRex, each of the services we offer customers is deeper than our competitors because it’s connected to all of the other services. Because we don’t do just one thing, we’re able to look at a fuller picture for our customers – a design phase characterizes a beginning, and beginning with the end in mind saves time and cost for both our customers and ourselves.”

Sometimes a simple thank you isn’t enough, and the RecognizeGood Legends program highlights those amazing individuals who go above and beyond for others. Starting at the age of 5, Gracie Garbade began collecting canned goods to help those who are experiencing homelessness. Gracie has since collected and donated over $31,670 and 12,050 pounds of food with the mission to help those in need. The TyRex staff  gathered at Hill Country Community Ministries for the Legends Ceremony to celebrate and recognize Gracie’s community efforts. RecognizeGood made a $1,000 donation in her name to Gracie’s Canned Goods.

Our annual Independence Day Celebration was a great success. The week before this celebration, sounds of bean bags hitting a wooden board could be heard echoing through the facility as training began for the highly anticipated bag toss competition. Before the competition began, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch – specially grilled by members of the TyRex Family. Once everyone was fueled up, the TyRex facility became full with sounds of cheers and celebrations during the fiercest competition of the year. In the end, we awarded 5 winners with a prize and captured quite a few memorable moments. Our champion for 2022: Jorge Alejo.
